Welcome to The Write Place. Read the "Quote for the Week." During your visit, please browse the list of contents on the left. Here is a brief description of what you'll find: Contests for writers and poets appear on the "Contests" page, including my bimonthly column, "From My Heart." I add new information regularly, and upload new lists bimonthly, so bookmark it for future visits. Studying others' writing helps me, so I collect quotations and favorite prose from books I'm reading. You can see the entire collection of character descriptions and metaphors in my Quotes & Excerpts section. This also includes great first lines from novels. If you have time, you can see samples of my writing here. If you're interested in illustration, I added samples of my artwork. Check back to see new illustrations. Since
my family owns an extensive library, I found myself recommending many
